EOC European Orchid Conference & Show – Rome 2027

The Roman edition of the European Orchid Conference & Show is the result of the joint commitment of outstanding scientific, cultural, and organizational institutions that share a clear vision: to promote the beauty, knowledge, and biodiversity of orchids within a unique international context.

CHAIRMAN

Guido Diana is President of the Italian Association of Orchidologia since 2008, cultivates orchids for over 40 years in his small greenhouse and has a collection more of 300 orchids, between species and hybrids. Guido has been involved in the organization of the EOCCE judgments in Padua 2006. Since 2009 collaborates in the publication of the AIO Caesiana magazine. He has been an AIO judge since 1997.

With over forty years of experience, Francesca Romana Maroni, CEO of Sens Eventi, is specialized in the creation of large events, accustomed to ranging across the most various sectors and themes: from pharmaceuticals to tourism, passing through insurance sector, Food & Wine and of course botanical world. Today she collaborates regularly with Luca Maroni, Rome Botanical Garden and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, organizing all the events of I Migliori Vini Italiani and major events with thousands of attendees such as Era di Maggio and Ortidea.

Founded in 1993, the Italian Orchid Association (AIO) is a non-profit organization operating with scientific and cultural purposes, serving as a reference point for the study, protection, and promotion of the world of orchids. A long-standing member of the European Orchid Council, AIO has been promoting the dissemination of orchid knowledge for over thirty years and fostering dialogue among researchers, collectors, and enthusiasts, authoritatively representing Italian institutions within the European context. Throughout its activity, it has organized and supported internationally significant events, including the European Exhibition and Conferences held in Padua in 2006, making a substantial contribution to the growth of orchid culture. Through a network of qualified judges active both in Italy and abroad, the Association continues to play a central role in evaluation, scientific outreach, and the promotion of biodiversity-friendly practices, preserving a shared heritage of knowledge and passion.

Sens Eventi has been active for over ten years in designing and organizing cultural and exhibition events in Italy and abroad. The company has collaborated with major institutions and enterprises, creating successful events capable of hosting thousands of guests while highlighting important content, identities, and spaces. Over the years, Sens Eventi has operated in prestigious locations such as the Salone delle Fontane at EUR in Rome, the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, the Galileo Museum in Florence, Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana in Turin, the Customs Museum in Hamburg, and the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery in Moscow. Since 2021, it has organized “Ortidea” at the Rome Botanical Garden, a trade show dedicated to orchids and other plants. Today, together with A.I.O. and the Rome Botanical Garden, it is responsible for organizing the EOC European Orchid Conference & Show – Rome 2027.

Founded in Rome in 1978, the Laziale Orchids Association (ALO) brings together orchid enthusiasts and growers, from beginners to experts. The association organizes biweekly meetings featuring thematic lectures and cultivation courses, and participates in botanical exhibitions by providing advice to the public. It also manages its own orchid collection, housed in the municipal greenhouses of the San Sisto Nursery, contributing to botanical education in the local community.

Founded in 2007, the Southern Orchid Enthusiasts Association APS (AMAO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting orchid culture, primarily in Southern Italy. Since 2022, it has been a member of the European Orchid Council and regularly organizes workshops, conferences, and tropical orchid exhibitions. The association collaborates with other organizations and public and private institutions, including the Royal Botanical Garden of Naples and the Botanical Garden of Palermo.

The Piedmont Orchid Association (APO) was founded in 2004 with scientific, cultural, and technical objectives. It promotes the knowledge, conservation, and propagation of orchids through meetings among enthusiasts, joint initiatives, and participation in orchid-related events. Members are mainly based within the region and maintain ongoing dialogue, fostering the exchange of experiences and expertise.

Founded in 2018, the Dendrobium Fuukiran Association is dedicated to the promotion and cultivation of Dendrobiums and Fūkiran (Neofinetia falcata). It brings together enthusiasts and growers who share a particular focus on plant quality and species study. Although a young organization, it actively contributes to spreading knowledge and highlighting the botanical and aesthetic value of these fascinating orchid groups.

Garda Orchids is a non-profit association founded in 2018 by orchid enthusiasts. It meets monthly in Pastrengo (VR) to explore botanical topics, cultivation techniques, and to foster community connections. Every spring, it organizes the Peschiera del Garda Orchid Fair, held in the historic Artillery Barracks overlooking the lake, a UNESCO site. Since 2024, it has been affiliated with the Italian Orchid Association (AIO).

The Free Association Garda Orchids (L.A.G.O. APS) is a Social Promotion Association founded in 2023 and based in the province of Trento. Active in Northern Italy, it promotes the spread of orchid enthusiasm through online and in-person educational activities. Registered in the National Third Sector Registry, it encourages collaboration between enthusiasts and researchers, with a focus on environmental protection and biodiversity.
